Michigan usually gets a lot of hype around summertime, but fall in Michigan would blow you away. The dynamic color of the changing leaves with the backdrop of lakes and green forests will make you never want to leave. This fall my boyfriend and I drove up to CrystalLake, where he has been going since he was little. Last year, around the same time in October, we went to the same exact spot and came across Sleeping Bear Dunes on a bike ride. We decided to hike up it and try to make it to the end where you reach Lake Michigan. We did not make it all the way because the sun was going down, but we planned to make it this time around…and we did! You can see the images are breathe taking and well worth the hour trek in the sand each way. The cliffs disguise Lake Michigan almost as if it were a lake in Canada or California, hard to believe you are still in Michigan. We also got a chance to go wine tasting on Leelanau Peninsula. The Hunt for Red October was going on so most of the wine tasting were free and proceeds went to the Red Cross if you bought a bottle. This marks the spot of the beginning of fall, maybe well make this trip an annual tradition!
